Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) by Vantage Point
Our IOP program operates three days a week, three hours per day, Monday through Friday. The Intensive Outpatient Program is ideal for individuals either needing a little more structured support beyond therapy or as a step-down from a higher level of care. IOP Treatment is designated to offer clients an opportunity to practice their new coping skills while in a supportive environment.
Vantage Point takes special consideration to ensure that you feel your specific concerns are attended to while undergoing an intensive outpatient program. It is not just about treating the person but addressing the concerns within their system (work, family, relationship, etc.). IOP Programs offer opportunities to integrate evidence-based and holistic modalities such as Yoga, Mindfulness, and various creative therapies.
While inpatient treatment solutions involve special residential programs, and in severe cases the need for hospitalization, an outpatient treatment program is focused on providing a comprehensive treatment plan that doesn’t or only minimally interferes with your responsibilities in life, so you can keep working and living with your loved ones while you seek treatment.
That’s our preferred approach. We consider the best IOP treatment to be the kind that lets you address your disorder while learning to continue to live a productive life.
Being surrounded by your loved ones is an important part of treatment. We consider family and friends to be a part of the treatment team, working with us to keep you on track, help you when you stumble, and aid in any way possible.
We understand that there are cases where an outpatient treatment program isn’t enough to address the severity of a diagnosis. But in most cases, working with our patients to achieve a fulfilling life through IOP treatment is the best way to ensure that the treatment succeeds, even long after therapy.
Evening Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP)
Vantage Point Recovery is excited to be offering a new evening intensive outpatient program (IOP). This program is ideal for motivated individuals seeking community, connection, and structured support in a safe and confidential environment.
Our evening program is excellent for:
- Professionals;
- Stay-at-home parents with kids;
- Individuals either newly sober or seeking a step-down facility from residential or PHP; and,
- Individuals that demonstrate motivation for change.
Our senior staff of highly-trained clinicians will be addressing various components of addiction and mental health that can sometimes be missed in other programs. Our program focuses on components of our clients’ support system and not solely on the client themself. Research informs us that the more the support system of the client is included, the better chance at long-term recovery.
Types of addiction we treat are:
- Alcohol use disorder
- Cannabis use disorder
- Compulsive use disorders (internet, gaming, gambling)
- Opioid use disorder (oxycodone, vicodin, norco, cough syrup, heroin, synthetics, fentanyl)
- Other hallucinogen disorder (mushrooms, lsd, MDMA)
- Sedative, hypnotic, or anxiolytic use disorder (xanax, ativan, sleep medications, phenobarbital)
- Stimulant use disorder (cocaine, methamphetamine, ADHD medications)
What can you expect?
Individual Therapy with a licensed therapist
The goal of individual therapy is to provide a safe space for clients to explore the deeper underlying issues contributing to the desire to use substances. You will work collaboratively to identify attainable goals and objectives that will offer you the opportunity to work towards sustained recovery through interventions offered by your Vantage Point Treatment Team.
Individual Case Management with a Masters-level practitioner
The goal of case management is to identify ways in which you benefit from the resources in our daily life. Case management is a support system within treatment which works with you to put the puzzle pieces together for your aftercare.
The IOP Program Approach
Through our outpatient program – and throughout the entirety of Vantage Point – the focus of our treatment modalities lies within you, and what makes your specific case unique. Our intensive outpatient program isn’t built on a strict framework of what we think is the best way to treat a disease – it’s built around you, your circumstances and needs, and what treatment best responds to you and your disorder.
Our approach is careful, calculated, and thorough. We don’t make any serious decisions lightly, and we certainly don’t advocate simplified cookie cutter treatment plans. What we do offer, is a flexible IOP treatment plan built around our proprietary capabilities as mental health professionals, with any combination of treatment options including:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Dialectic Behavioral Therapy
- Hypnotherapy
- Brainspotting
- Yoga and Meditation
- Creative Therapies
- Individual Therapies
- Trauma Informed Interventions
- Case Management
- And many more.
Clients will be receiving nine hours of carefully curated, multi-dimensional group programming which addresses the following areas of addiction.
- Triggers and cravings
- Daily stressors and emotional management
- Family systems and dynamics contributing to use
- Co-dependency
- Cognitive behavioral and rational emotive responses
- Shame and resilience
- Gender specific issues
- Multi-family support groups
- Exposure to in-house recovery support including 12-step and SMART
Therapies we use in the IOP Treatment Program
Our intensive outpatient program offers a number of therapy options depending on your case. For many mental illnesses, psychotherapy options like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy show excellent results in the long-term and help you ultimately modify your perspective towards life and your condition. Therapies can also help you tackle and cope with deeper issues in a safe, healthy way, and desensitize yourself to traumas.
Medication
Medication management is a supportive and relevant intervention that can improve symptoms related to mental illness and substance use. While the IOP treatment does not include Psychiatry, we do work with many providers that offer their support and services to our clients. The evidence does support that individuals that participate in both medication management and therapy typically have substantial improvements in mood and functioning (Adding psychotherapy to antidepressant medication in depression and anxiety disorders: a meta-analysis)
Alternative Treatments
As an alternative to the usual therapy options, we have a wide range of effective alternative treatments, from energy therapy to art therapy, mindfulness training, meditation, and yoga. What does and doesn’t work is different from case to case, but if you want to give an alternative a try, we have trained professionals and experts here to assist you in alternative treatment.
Cutting Edge Treatments
Understanding the role of complex trauma, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, severe addiction and the like requires the integration of cutting-edge interventions that can get results. That is why expanding our strategies to incorporate Brainspotting, Trauma Resilience, Mindfulness and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) are critical in our successful outcomes.
Lifestyle Modification
Addressing the physical self and the daily activities in your life, can go a long way to boost your confidence – and by extension, take control of your life – but it can also help you mitigate the effects of diagnoses like anxiety and depression. Our case managers work closely with our IOP Program clients in order to provide access to resources to better manage your outside world. They work diligently to ensure that our Intensive Outpatient Program is benefitting you not only from what you get on the inside but how you benefit from the outside.
