CoreAt its core, our treatment is about you. Your struggle, your problems, your circumstances and how you respond to our approach to helping you overcome your diagnosis.

There are countless ways to do that – but just one way matters. The way that works best for you. Here at Vantage Point, our main specialty is finding out what treatment options work best for our patients while helping them manage their illness on an outpatient basis through our intensive outpatient program: our Core.

While inpatient treatment solutions involve special residential programs, and in severe cases the need for hospitalization, outpatient treatment is focused on providing a comprehensive treatment plan that doesn’t or only minimally interferes with your responsibilities in life, so you can keep working and living with your loved ones while you seek treatment.

That’s our preferred approach. We consider the best treatment to be the kind that lets you fight your disorder while learning to continue living a normal life. If a treatment only works in an isolated, controlled environment, then it’s ultimately moot – because it’s how you feel in the outside world that matters the most.

And on top of that, being surrounded by your loved ones is an important part of treatment. We consider family and friends to be a part of the treatment team, working with us to keep you on track, help you when you stumble, and aid in any way possible.

We understand that there are cases where outpatient treatment isn’t enough to address the severity of a diagnosis. But in most cases, working with our patients to achieve a fulfilling life through outpatient treatment is the best way to ensure that the treatment sticks, even long after therapy.

The Core Approach

Through Core – and throughout the entirety of Vantage Point – the focus of our treatment modalities lies within you, and what makes your specific case unique. Our intensive outpatient program isn’t built on a strict framework of what we think is the best way to treat a disease – it’s built around you, your circumstances and needs, and what treatment best responds to you and your disorder. We don’t pretend to know everything, and we certainly can’t predict what the best way to treat you is based solely on the textbook definition of your diagnosis. The fact that you’re depressed, or suffer panic attacks isn’t enough for us to make a judgment call on how to treat you.

Our approach is careful, calculated, and thorough. We don’t make any serious decisions lightly, and we certainly don’t advocate simplified cookie cutter treatment plans. What we do offer, is a flexible treatment plan built around our proprietary capabilities as mental health professionals, with any combination of treatment options including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Dialectic Behavioral Therapy
  • Hypnotherapy
  • Brainspotting
  • Yoga & Meditation
  • And more.

Treating the Individual

Our Core offering is a short-term outpatient treatment plan built around your diagnosis or diagnoses. We don’t just treat a single illness – we help you determine and define how your illness changed your life and affected you personally, and we help you build the life skills you need to overcome the negative aspects of your diagnosis and change for the better.

We help you heal comprehensively, treating the entire host of problems, rather than a single symptom. Because of that, our intensive outpatient care program encompasses a very large range of treatment options and schedule options, with a required minimum participation of 9 hours per week. Our treatment modalities include:

We offer a number of therapy options depending on your case. For many mental illnesses, psychotherapy options like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy show excellent results in the long-term and help you ultimately modify your perspective towards life and your condition. Therapies can also help you tackle and cope with deeper issues in a safe, healthy way, and desensitize yourself to traumas.

Sometimes, the best way to offer you relief and manage your disorder initially is through medication. Anti-anxiety medication, antidepressants, and mood stabilizers are valid forms of treatment in cases where a panic attack or clinical depression severely impacts your life and keeps you from living a normal one. While rarely a permanent solution, medication helps us give you a clearer head, and give you the chance to work towards a solution that doesn’t rely on meds.

As mental health experts, we’re well aware of the risks of prescription drugs – and their addictive properties. That’s why we treat them as a temporary solution, and not an ideal fix.

Alternative Treatments

As an alternative to the usual therapy options, we have a wide range of effective alternative treatments, from energy therapy to art therapy, mindfulness training, meditation, and yoga. What does and doesn’t work is different from case to case, but if you want to give an alternative a try, we have trained professionals and experts here to assist you in alternative treatment.

Cutting Edge Treatments

Some treatment options are on the bleeding edge of science and aren’t widespread enough to count as a mainstream treatment option. These include eye movement-based therapy, from desensitization to brainspotting, and neurofeedback. These are non-invasive treatment options that dig deep into brain chemistry and the studied effects of trauma on the brain.

Lifestyle Modification

Treating your body like a temple can go a long way to helping you not only boost your confidence – and by extension, take control of your life – but it can also help you mitigate the effects of diagnoses like anxiety and depression. Exercise and nutrition are the specific foci we at Vantage Point dedicate ourselves to, helping you improve your self-image and keep yourself positively occupied with different physical activities, and carefully-crafted diets as per our own nutritionists.

Vantage Point Core is about finding ways to help you help yourself – it sounds clichéd, but we deeply believe that personal empowerment is the way forward for most cases of mental illness. We can’t take on the responsibility for your own life – you have to make the appropriate decisions and see them through to overcome your diagnosis. But we will help you at every junction and step of the way, so you never have to feel alone on your journey to a much better you.
